About the Project and Project Partners
Over the past 20 years, Barrhaven has grown
substantially, both residentially and commercially, and
soon our community will comprise more than 90,000
people. The fabric of our community includes a
substantial number of military, police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The Barrhaven
Community Cenotaph Project is a joint community
initiative led by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 641
Barrhaven, to honour those who have served, through the
creation of a memorial park and cenotaph.
This memorial park will be built on land adjacent to the
John McCrae Secondary School on Malvern Drive in
Barrhaven.
The park will provide an area for remembrance and
reflection. As well, it will provide a location for
Remembrance Day ceremonies.
The Barrhaven Community Cenotaph Project Partners
include representatives from the
Barrhaven Royal
Canadian Legion, the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the
RCMP Foundation,
local business organizations and Barrhaven service clubs.
